With Spinazzola sidelined for roughly the next six-seven months, Roma are considering all valid alternatives on the market. So far, the problem is often related to the price-tag. Emerson Palmieri, for example, costs €16 million despite having only one more year left on his contract. Gladbach’s Bensebaini, on the other hand, has a price-tag of around €20-25 million and the German side are not too keen on letting him go. Thus, the search for Spinazzola’s temporary replacement continues.
According to Il Tempo, the latest candidate for the job might be Ezgjan Alioski of Leeds United. The 29-year-old wing-back recently parted ways with Leeds after both parties failed to reach a deal for a contract extension. Thus, after four years in the Premier League, the Macedonian international is looking for a new team to join.
Roma have already contacted the player’s entourage and will soon open talks with his agent in order to bring the wing-back on a free transfer. Milan and Napoli are also monitoring the situation closely.
Alioski is a versatile wing-back that knows how to play deeper as well as more advanced. Last year he appeared in 36 league matches, scoring 2 goals and finishing with 3 assists.
